Just Peace Weekend: campaigning for peace

Time:15:00 – 17:00

Interactive discussion –
How can you influence public opinion in order to promote peace? And what role can art play in it, for example to increase understanding for refugees? During this Hague Talks the personal experiences of two campaigners will be shared.

Saskia Stoltz, founder of Power of Art House and creator of the new exhibition Moving People will discus what she hopes to achieve with her projects and other art projects that have inspired her. Her story is told in the middle of the Humanity House exhibition space, so you can simultaneously view the exhibition Moving People.

What does this show you? What inspires and motivates you when it comes to peace and understanding for refugees? And how do you bring this back yourself to others? Share this during our interactive debate.

Also Remy Ndizeye Niyigena, which was the model for one of the Moving People pieces wants to influence the public and political opinion. At age four he fled from Rwanda to the Netherlands. His mother, a Rwandan politician, is currently imprisoned in Rwanda. Together with Amnesty International, he is fighting for her release. How is his fight going and how does he experiences peace?
